Local Talent: Dan Hudson to Perform at Caffe Divano Aug 13 and Aug 27

We sat down with local musician Dan Hudson to ask a few questions about his music, travel, and his favourite bands.
KC: Where is “home”?
DH: Home is where the heart is… and in this case, its in Port Moody.
KC: When did you realize you were a performer and had to follow that path?
DH: I was really inspired by my uncle about 3 years ago who had been a musician for many many years… There was never really a turning point of realization, but there is a definite feeling of satisfaction when people enjoy and relate to the music you make. It’s almost another way to have a conversation with a complete stranger, and find a common ground.
KC: What musicians were inspirations to you? Who is your current favourite musician?
DH: As mentioned before, my uncle had ALWAYS been a huge source of inspiration. I really enjoy the works of city and colour, circa survive and recently the black keys. I used to be into more “new metal” but as I age, i feel that ive slightly grown away from the louder more agressive styles.
KC: Describe your music? Do you compose your own music/songs?
DH: Acoustic music, songs of love and life and everything in between. I do write all my own music. I write from personal experience, and anything that may strike me to feel inspired to write. It’s kinda hard to explain because its something that just seems to happen.
KC: Tell us about the band you play with?
DH: I am very lucky to be working with a project called Waiting for Sunday. Its a 4 piece band managed by the creator of Rednyne promotions. We’ve been working hard at the project for just over 1 year, have completed a 12 track album available on itunes, and have just returned from tour in Alberta.

KC: Where can we see you with the band?
DH: At the Point Pub in port Moody Thursday Aug 19th, and many other places, check out our website at Waiting For Sunday
KC: What’s your favourite food and beverage?
DH: Beef and blue cheese pizza from Uncle Fatihs!
KC: Best film you’ve ever seen?
DH: Still lookin for it…
KC: Where do you want to travel to that you haven’t yet been?
DH: I am really excited to tour the rest of Canada! Mostly Montreal… I hear nothing but great things about that city.
KC: Anything else you want us to know?
DH: WFS is a fully independent project we/I work very hard at this band and look at it as a small business. We do it because we love it, and we hope to turn ourselves into a fully functional unit within the industry. Its work put in outside of our regular jobs, its tough, but its what we love to do. Hope to see you at one of our shows!
